Paintings of my favorite books with other objects.
I begin each painting by choosing a favorite book to paint. I then pair it with an object based on both an intuitive feeling and randomness, whatever catches my eye. I don’t think too much about the “meaning” of the pairing, yet in the end it always feels right. The paintings are done from life in one sitting, painted in oil paint on board applied only with a palette knife and are all 11 x 14 inches.
